Nurses Aide (NA), Intensive Care Unit
Job Overview:
Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, the Nurse Aide II performs a variety of basic patient care activities and related procedures in caring for the needs of the patients.
He/She assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment.
Qualifications:
Required:
High School DiplomaBLS Certification through American Heart Association only.
Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal and demonstrated writing skills.
Proven track record of compassionate care & superior service and a commitment to providing healthcare excellence always.
Preferred:
At least one (1) year experience as a phlebotomist or EKG Technician with health care background.
Current enrollment in health care training program as C.
N.
A.
or PCT preferredCollege degree preferred.
Certifications and Licenses:
BLS certification through American Heart AssociationScheduling Requirements:
Evenings 3:
00PM - 11:
00PMSchedule during the week will vary depending on department needsPer-Diem2 week mandatory orientation
Essential Functions:
Takes and records temperature, pulse, respiration, B/P, height/weight and intake/output measurements accurately.
Reports findings outside of normal range to RNProvides assistance with ADL s to assigned patientsProvides assistance with the nutritional needs of patients, including feeding, mealtime assistance/set-up, supplying fluids, and delivering supplemental snacksLifts, moves, turns, and transports patients out of bed, chair, stretcher, wheelchair, portable mechanical lift, etc.
, maintaining proper body mechanicsPerforms laboratory procedures as noted:
venipuncture, EKG, GTT, blood culture, urine collection procedures and other laboratory procedures as directed by the Registered NurseDemonstrates the 4 C s of Commitment, Compassion, Competence, and CommunicationOther Duties:
