Strong network infrastructure experience & network security architecture skills including: Firewall/Intrusion Detection; DNS; VPN; Cloud experience; Backups and restoration processes. IT Network Certifications preferred.
Server management experience
Demonstrated knowledge of Windows Server 2008 and/or 2012
Proven knowledge of Windows 7 in a domain environment
Experience with Microsoft technologies, including Windows XP/7 & Office Applications, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Sharepoint, Active Directory
Experience supporting users in a Windows Server Remote Desktop/Terminal Services environment
Ability to work in a dynamic environment - remain productive during slow times, multi-task during busy times, exercise patience and professionalism during stressful situations
Great problem solving skills; can retain important information
Can communicate technical concepts in non-technical language
Documentation skills are very important.
Have the ability to follow instructions and guidelines as well as make recommendations for service level improvements and enhancements.
Must be a team player with the ability to work well with a wide variety of personalities.
Must be a self-starter with a demonstrated ability to prioritize work and to work independently on multiple on-going projects/tasks.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
This role is responsible for order and installation of IT equipment, providing on-site and phone support to remoter users, and troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
Orders equipment as required and physically sets up work stations for new employees - PC, printer, hardware, and software installation and configuration as well as phone access
Maintains data integrity and file system security for the desktop environment
Ability to work closely and take direction from Sr Network Engineers when trouble shooting and supporting infrastructure.
Use remote access tools to perform remote diagnostics on users' PC
Maintains IT asset tracking system by performing periodic inventory audits, updating records for repair history, adding records for new purchases, and processing asset transfer and disposal
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Solid experience with SharePoint
SQL experience
Microsoft Network server management experience
Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications
3-6 years of experience in a similar IT role
Ability to travel between local offices in Bloomfield, NJ and Melville, NY. Depending upon new office locations, some travel to other locations is possible. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Availability to occasionally work after hours and/or weekends if requested.
